UP Hog Wild 2008 is a charity Barbecue Cookoff and Music Extravaganza.  This year we are proud to be  hosted by the City of Kingsford, Michigan on July 11^th and 12^th, 2008. This is the forth of what we hope will be many years of exciting events, bringing together many communities, for a great time and a great cause. If you were a part of UP Hog Wild 2007, let us begin by thanking you again for your help and support.

The spirit of UP Hog Wild is to serve a number of concerns. We want our host city to benefit from a great community celebration, drawing in locals and visitors alike. We hope to provide an event that will allow local businesses to participate and prosper from a community wide activity. Our goal is to bring a variety of entertainment to all those who attend, with attention being paid to family, food, and fun. And through all of this, we hope to raise funds that will support the needs of Children with Disabilities. Our primary focus again this year is the "UP Camp for Kids with Diabetes".

Your contribution is truly needed, especially during our growing years. Participation can take place in a number of ways. We need Major Sponsors who will support various portions of our event. If you are interested, Major Sponsor Packages are available for you to review. We also need Event Sponsors willing to assist us with the products or services of their business. Imagine putting on a huge picnic for thousands of people and you have some idea of how great our needs are. We need volunteers and social and civic groups to participate and support our event. And most of all, we need financial contributions. Our profits go to support the Children of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula who suffer from Disabilities, including Juvenile Diabetes.

UP Hog Wild 2008 is proud and honored to have the City of Kingsford as our host. But this is not a cause or a mission just for their benefit. This is a project designed and intended to encompass the entire U.P. As you look around your hometown, be it Marquette, or Houghton, Escanaba, or Menominee……..There are children and members of your community that need your help and support.

Please join us in this celebration of Family, Fun, Food, Music and the pride of being part of the community called the "U.P." It’s time to get involved….It’s time to…. once again.....go "HOG WILD".
